Abstract Entangled by a web-like pattern of rivers and rivulets, Nepal’s energy sector currently is dominated hydroelectricity which sustains major portion the country’s economy. But still, after more than hundred years its operation, sector’s dependence on imports uncanny. This not only upsizes project cost but also time human resources. The research, therefore, aims to aid cause examining prospect manufacturing runners using local industrial expertise in synchronization with available data research. Here, paper focuses sand casting 750KW Francis runner design parameters namely gating feeding system ensure directional solidification. Apart from conventional procedure, was proceeded as three separate parts: hub, shroud, blade were later welded together. gate riser placement for each parts designed independently analysed any shrinkage porosities possible voids computer simulation several iterations each. Specifically, temperature variations during stages solidification assigned 0, 50, 100 tested total 195 nodes. then transferred into mould performed. procedure resulted cast clean surface finish minimal visible defects. study, thus, suggests possibility through metal substantial implications improvement hydropower industry Nepal.
